Researcher(s):  Yasvir A. Tesiram, Ph.D., Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Free Radical Biology and Aging Research Program.

m2m Product: 35mm ID, 112mm OD volume coil with two channels - 1 channel at 300MHz and 1 channel broad band tunable from 30MHz to 130MHz.  The second channel can be used for various X nuclei applications for both imaging and spectroscopy

MRI System: Bruker BioSpin 7T BioSpec

Comments:

OMRF Free Radical Biology and Aging Research Program's images showing excised cyst imaging at 7T using a broad band m2m MR imaging/spectroscopy coil. This special coil was developed to allow the researchers to tune the second channel between a large range of nuclei at the base frequency of 300MHz.

Image details:

Mouse liver with cysts, fixed in Formalin; 3D RARE sequence, resolution 78x104x156 micron, 300 msec TR, with an effective TE of 8ms.  Total acquisition time was 4 hours and 5 minutes.

More information about the facility the images where acquired at can be obtained here: http://www.omrf.ouhsc.edu/omrf/research/13/Welcome.asp
